Last Thursday we had the Cape Cod Salties Sport Fishing Club out on their annual fluke and seabass trip. The weather look a little tough from the dock but the wind maps showed a lot less wind where we have been fishing. On the fishing grounds we had 18-20 knots of wind and the current running in the same direction. This made for a decent drift early and later in the trip but mid day14-20 ounce sinkers were needed to hold bottom. Early in the trip Randell Sherman of West YarmouthMA pulled out a nine plus pounder to take the lead in the pool. Late in the day his hopes were taken away by Winston Chiong of Newton MA with a beautiful 12 1/2 pound fluke. Many big seabass were also landed through the day. The cooler waters around Nantucket has kept the bait around and in turn kept the fluke and seabass around as well. We have two to three trips a week scheduled .call the office for details.
